The mistaken Hat

Img_5071 ...or rather the mistaken cables! When I had knitted the cables, I found out, that they were not quite similar to the pattern. Perhaps I didn't read the pattern carefully...?! I don't know, this is my hat and my cables.

The model Wisteria is designed by Helga Isager, Amimono. She is no noubt my favorite danish knit designer, but I'm sorry to say, that her patterns are not very well written. The yarn is two strands wool tweed and one strand alpaca. It is soft, warm and I love the colour. You can see my daugter wearing the hat here.

Til mine danske besøgende som også har ladet sig fange af broderiet, Netto har et godt tilbud fra i dag. Tak for tippet, Dorte.

Tea and Cake

Img_5049 Two small place mats - one for the cake and one for the tea cup. Perhaps just for a nice cup of tea a cold September afternoon  with your best friend.

The cake and the cup are from Sublime Stitching. For the first time have I have tried stitching with Dansk Blomstergarn (in english danish flower yarn). It's a great yarn for embroidery and it's availble is so many great colours.

Karkovski Cat

Img_5033_2

Finally! Now I have made my first Karkovski Cat! It will not be the last one. This cat is a great gift for children and childish grown ups like me.

The pattern is from this great book. Some of you have asked me where to buy the book. I'm not able to help you about that - I don't know. I have received my book as a gift. I feel very lucky.

Next time I will make Lucy's Monster (the pink monster on the frontpage of the book). I'm not the only one in the family, who enjoy the book. My two girls age 10 and 13 like it too. Olivia, 13, think that Lucy's Monster is so cool.

Commission order

Img_5024_2 My sister in law ordered this babuska garland as a childbirth gift. I hope the parents will like the gift.

I have sewed many russian dolls, but I still like their happy faces and great colours so much. The make me smile!

You can see more babuskas here. If you have a question or just want to say hallo do not hesitate to contact me.

Baby toy

Img_5018 One more gift for baby - a rattle bird made in blue and brown cotton and linen with a bell on the tale. A quick project if you want a last minute gift. We like that, don't we...?!

Beside that not much is going on here. I've lost energy and I'm trying to find it with four days off from work. I enjoy the rainy weather and try to do only, what I want to. Autumn is my favorite time of the year. Now a cafe latte is what I want!

Ready to wear

Img_5004_kopi

I have finished the hexagon scarf - my first, but not last, hexagon project. Thank you, Alex, for starting all this!

I don't think, that I will ever make a blanket of hexagons. Perhaps a baby blanket... Beside that I have this blanket to finish.

Yarn...?! I have used cotton and kidmohair. Take a look at this great vintage button from my collection of old buttons.

Black and white

Img_4995_2 ...gray, brown and linen. I'm making plans for christmas gifts. Cases for knitting needles and crochet hooks in linen and black cotton. Way too many ideas and plans, when I've so many unfinished projects to do!

When I saw this scarf I fell in love at once, as the first time I met my husband. Another kind of love of course! I had some Rowan kidsilk haze stashed away - perfect for this scarf. Then I had an excuse for buying some silk wrapped stainless steel from Habu Textiles. Even the name of the yarn sounds luxurious!

Well, I have an appointment with several unfinished projects. Have a great sunday!

Cable Knit

Fauxpringle

Take a look - I think that this sweater and dress are gorgeous! I now one thing for sure, I would never be able to finish such a project! You can see more here.

It's weekend, finally. I hope to finish my hexagon scarf during the weekend. I've been to busy hanging out with friends during this week. I like that, but I don't like not having the time for crafting.

Have a great weekend!

Softies - the Book

9780670070824 Look what I've got! This great book arrived today. I'm totally in love with all the quirky, cute and cuddly toys.

It's a great book and I'm proud the see the work of a danish blogger in the book. Kristina has contributed with the rabbit on the frontpage and the pattern for her cats - cute.

Thank you so much!!! I'm so happy.

My hexagon scarf

Img_4949

No, no - I'm not ready yet, but it will be a scarf soon I hope. I like it already. Do you know the feeling, when a project turns out just the way you wished...?! The colours are just as I wanted - great.

I do understand, why so many craftes are so thrilled with hexagons projects. It's therapy - try it!
