I can feel it

Img_5360_2If you think it is too early talking about Christmas stop reading this post! Yesterday was a dark, rainy - and very cosy - autumn day in Denmark. I had a couple of hours alone in the afternoon and decided to find my Christmas books. What a joy! I love Christmas. My absolute favorite time of the year.

Making these gift tags was therapy and I forgot all about making dinner... We did get something to eat so don't worry!

In the weekend I handed over the first to Christmas gifts - handmade! Great feeling.

By the way - I've started af Flickr group with Christmas Ideas and Inspiration. Do you want to join it.....?!

Pay it forward

Some years ago I saw the movie Pay it forward together with my husband. We both liked this movie, because it had a great story to tell (....and I like Kevin Spacey!). Today when I read Melissas blog, I decided to pay it forward too. Many bloggers have decided that and the rules are very simple:

Img_4851  I will send a handmade gift to the first three people who leave a comment to this post and request to join the PIF exchange. You will receive a handmade gift from me within 365 days. I don't know what the gift will be, it will be a surprise! Right now it's a surprise for me too.

The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog. Easy, isn't it.....?!

Size extra, extra small....

Img_5330_2 Saartje's Bootees from Saartje Knits - they are so cute! I have knitted them in Bambi, merino extrafine, from Grignasco. The yarn is very soft and it is available in so many beautiful colours! Just take a look here and see Marie-Louise's hexagon project.

The Knit Hawk has made the bootees and so have Knitting a lot (...and many other knitters too!). How about you - are you going to make the bootees too...?!

The buttons ARE pink!!

Cherry, size small

Img_5321_2

The scarf is for my daughter, Frederikke (10 years). She has picked the colours to match her red winther jacket. She hates scarves, hats and mittens, so I'm just happy because she wanted me to knit something for her. I hope she will wear it!

The Cherry pattern is designed by Helga Isager, Amimono and last month the pattern was published in Boligliv. Many danish knitters have made this scarf - here and here you can see some of them. I have knitted the scarf in Drops alpaca, 2 skeins red and only 15 g of the blue (I've made the scarf smaller to fit my daughter).

Two friends went for a walk

Two hedgehogs went for a walk. They found some very delicious mushrooms. Luckily the mushrooms were not eatable!

If they were, I had eaten them already! They are so cute!I just had to show them to you.

Autumn Scarf

Today I got a surprise gift from this talented crafter. She has made this beautiful crocheted scarf for me. I got tears in my eyes, when I read the card, she had written. I have said it before, I have som great and fantastic friends and I find it hard to believe that I have derserved all this attention. I feel so lucky and spoiled. Have a great weekend - I will!

Patchwork Notebook

Mosaic331940_2

One notebook more - this time it's a patchwork notebook, including the cutest embroidery made my Anne Marie. I got it in a swap package. She even made a tiny washing instruction! The stamped ribbon is the back of the notebook. Inside I've used Amy Butlers Wall flower - cherry - from the Lotus collection.

About knitting! Although I'm not a hat person, I must show you these hats from Knitkid. I love them! I think he is able to knit a hat for everyone!

Autumn Leaves

Img_5299

I have planned to make book covers for such a long time! I think it's a great gift ikea for a creative friend or perhaps someone who loves cooking. Today I finally made this book cover. The fabric shows that Autumn is my favorite time of the year - next to Christmas of course. You can find a tutorial for making a book cover here. I have not used this tutorial for my book cover.

You can see more pictures in  my flickr album.

My perfect Star Sweater

Img_5296I can't take the credit for knitting this gorgeous sweater. Ever since I saw this one for the first time, I have wanted to have my own star sweater. The only problem was that I'm not patient enough for that kind of knitting. A very dear friend of mine offered to knit it for me. I had to think about this generous offer for some time. Was it reasonable that a mother of 5 kids should knit my sweater...?! I know her well enough to know that she really would do that for me. Today I got my sweater, it fits me perfect and I love it! Thank you so much, Tina. You're the best! The design of the sweater is from Bette Design.

Red doll and a summer swap

Img_5275

Meet my new babuska doll with happy and colourful flowers. We are waiting for her sisters to arrive to the family. My first vacation project and hopefully not the last one!

I also have some knitting to do - this jacket needs my attention. The princess is also waiting for somewhere to sleep - poor darling.... She has been waiting for the bed for such a long time. It is not because the project is boring - no way!

During the vacation my husband turns 40 and I have some planning to do for his birthday, but not today. Now I have to enjoy another swap package. This time I got a package from a Norwegian friend. Great, isn't it...?! A japanese book which I don't know - yet! Fabric with dots and so much more. Thank you so much!
