Swap End...

Img_6006_2 ....2007! I'm looking forward to new swaps in 2008 - I'm ready!

Today I received a swap package from Denise. She sent me these cute gingerbread ornaments, fabric, paper, tea and much more. You can see more pictures here. Thank you, Denise! Real goodies.

I must say that I'm a true swap addict. It's fanstatic too meet new crafters and change goodies from other countries. The best of all is the new friendships in Denmark and other countries. Thank you friends - it's time to wish you all a Happy New Year! I'm looking forward to 2008.

New Books

Img_0006My husband gave me this book for Christmas. He remembered how much I enjoyed the book, when I borrowed it at the library! He's definitely one of the best gift buyers, I know. I like the stitched circles on this skirt. It's fantastic how much these stitches change the look of the skirt! It is a very inspiring books with great pictures. You can see more pictures here.

Img_0001One of my book wishes for Christmas was this danish patchwork book. I did'nt get it for Christmas - yesterday I had to buy it for myself as a late Christmas gift. It's a great book by Hanne Matthiesen, who make the most inspiring work, which I love very much. Take a look here and see for yourself. If you like sewing with vintage fabric, scrabs and thrifted pillowcases, this is absolutely a book for you. I love the book and the very inspiring pictures in it. The first three people who don't speak a word danish have already ordered the book! Isn't it fantastic being a crafter and blogger.....?!

Hanne Matthiesen sells her work here and I must admit, that I had to buy some of this fantastic thread in the most beautiful colours. I'm afraid that I will keep it wrapped forever. The small bags are very decorating.... You must visit Heaven and Earth's flickr album and see the inspiring pictures.

Great with such great new books to enjoy!

Birdie, Birdie....

Img_6000_3  A few small holiday projects. No, not the quilts! The log cabin quilt is made by my mother in law and was a gift, when Olivia, age 13, was born. The other quilt was my first attempt to sew a baby quilt years ago. My latest baby quilt was this one and I think it is time to make a new quilt soon. On the other hand this project is still waiting for me!! It must wait for the right moment.

I love making fabric balls - such a cosy and quick project. I have had the template for the fabric ball thirty years and I've made many scrab balls. Here's another one.

I must admit, that I did not finish all 12 projects in 2007. Now it is too late to make my two missing projects for November and December. Do you want to join the group for 12 projects in 2008.....?! You must make your projects of materials from stash. You are welcome to join the group.

December 26th

Img_5968 Today is a day with no plans or arrangements of any kind! Although we've had two great days, I have really been longing for today.

The children enjoy their Christmas gifts, our dog is sleeping after a long walk by the beach. My husband's favorite sport/hobby is to drive mountainbike. Right know he is going to a wood near us. Me...?! I'm sitting by the sewing machine. Just what I needed.

I have made a pyjamas bag for my niece, age 2, who became big sister 10 days ago. The fabric with elephants is from this great danish shop.

2. juledag - skønt! Jeg har i den grad set frem til denne dag. De foregående dage er brugt med juleforberedelser i køkkenet, juleaften og julefrokost sammen med familien. Ingen planer for dagen i dag.

Christmas

Img_5835 The tree is decorated by our children age 11, 13 and 21. Every year I say to myself, that I must have my own little tree to decorate.... Next year perhaps!

They have so much fun decorating the tree and my husband and I enjoy their laugh.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas. Enjoy the holiday.I hope it will be full of joy, love, presents, good food and nice people around you.

I hope to be able to show some creative projects soon.... Beside being in the kitchen the past days I have just decorated napkins.....

Img_5824 Finally it's time for Christmas Holiday! I've been longing for that for weeks - 12 days off from work, yes! No more busy day at work this year, now it is time for Christmas.

All presents are bought and ready to give away. Right now there is nothing on the shopping list. The boxes are filled with Christmas cookies. As I've told you earlier in December, not much creative is going on here. Every year ind December I promise myself to beging my creative Christmas plans earlier next year. In 2008 I will do it! Do you like these cute Christmas Stockings...?! I love them! If you take a look at the candle (for a Christmas tree), you can se, that the Stockings are small. Img_5818_2Marie-Louise, has made more handmade swap gifts for me. The Stockings, fabric covered buttons and this beautiful box decorated with ribbon. Here you can see moore swap goodies. Thank you so much!

Now I will serve spicy Christmas tea for Olivia, 13, and to of her friends. Perhaps they will like some candy and homebaked cookies. Have a great December friday!

Saint Nick's Stocking

Img_5796

Another Christmas Stocking. This one is made of chocolate brown linen, which I have bought here. I like sewing in this linen and I must admit, that I had to buy other colours too. Light green and light pink.

A very personal gift for a dear friend. I like making Christmas Stockings!!

Christmas stuff

Img_5785

Paper box and envelope for Christmas gift wrapping. I like the mix of paper and the vintage tags. The tags are bought here and the red and green vintage paper here

The box is made of wall paper bought on sale in a local super market. I found the small silver cross in a gift shop. I like using it for decoration on gift wrapping.

A small but very cosy project. I like to give away a gift with a personal wrapping - at least to those who appreciate it.....

Have a great evening!

The cutest Surprise

Img_5762_2Yes, it is a valnut, but it is certainly not a common valnut! This one comes from Germany and it is a Jasna nut. When I first saw the nut, I thought it was ment to hang somewhere as Christmas decoration. No, Jasna, wrote on her card that I had to open the nut and look inside for a surprise. Inside was three tiny ladybird buttons. They are so cute! The weather was too dark to take a picture of them.

It is not the first time, Jasna send me a great package from Germany. She has a very special styling talent! I enjoy her inspiring photos so much. Thank you very much, Jasna. More pictures here.

Today I also received my order from Craft Pudding. Now I can add a Christmas tree to my stamp collection. It's great, Magda. I love the bird in the top of the tree.

What a weekend

Img_5705Starting with a visit here. It was a treasure of Christmas goodies, great homebaked bread, vegetables, flowers, meat and so much more!! I wish I had taken some pictures to show you.

After that I received a swap package from Tanya in France. Thank you!

The rest of the day we celebrated Frederikke with a birthday party. Today we went to Copenhagen to eat brunch and celebrate her again - today is her real birthday. Great brunch! On the way home with the train, I discovered that my bag was open and someone had stolen my purse and credit cards. Who needs that....?! I don't, but it could be much worse of course.

The rest of the day we will enjoy all the candles, the cosy fire, life and just do nothing. Have a great Sunday! I wish the day had 48 hours - not much creative going on here.
