Do Elephants eat Radishes...?!

Img_6172_2 The goodies from my Embroidery Swap was to tempting! I had to make three pincushions with some of the small pieces from the box.

The weekend has not been as good as hoped for. Yesterday I had to sew something, before I went crazy! Making these three pincushions made my day. I have said it many times, I know, but I just love to mix colours, romantic, beautiful and silly fabric. I have so much fun doing that! The pincushion in the front has hippos on the back and the second one has lime elephants.

The pincushions will be for sale. Send me an e-mail if you are interested. I'm planning to sell from my etsy store in near future. More pictures here

Embroidery Swap

As I mentioned the other day it can be difficult to find embroidery in the second hand shops in my area. Then I got a mail from Hanne, who wanted to swap with me. She lives in Jutland and she knows where to find second hand stuff! Just take a look here to see her work(the name of her website is Tulips and Tomatoes!). Here you can see some of the stuff Hanne sent me

Giveaway

Weekend! The best two days of the week. A weekend with no obligations of any kind. Well that's not quite true! A friend and I are going to shop here tomorrow, which I'm really looking forward to. Fabric and good company - who can ask for more....?!

Img_6162_5 I think today is the day to show my gratitude and be generous. I want to make someone happy with a handmade gift. All you have to do to participate in the game is leaving a comment to this post.

Comments will remain open until midnight on the first of February. The next day I will pick a winner of this blue and red pincushion and a babuska doll.

Let the game begin!

Will I ever learn....

I guess not! When I sew, I get so exited and forget all about the world around me. Our house is a complete mess right now. I can only focus on the piece of fabric in my hand. I don't tidy up, while I'm busy sewing. That's the problem - now there is fabric and thread everywhere! After publishing this post I will have a cafe latté and a homebaked cookie. Then I think I'm ready to deal with the mess! Perhaps....

Img_6153_2 My thoughts are red and blue at present. I think the stars have started it. I don't mind, because I really like the mix of these two colours. Blue is not one of my favorite colours, unless I mix it with red (I like the mix of light blue and brown too!).

I have made some log cabin pincushions and they all look different. That's what I love about working with fabric. As well as I like different kind of log cabin like my crazy log cabin coasters.

Time for coffee! I've just got an e-mail from my beloved. He told me to keep on sewing and not do some boring house keeping. He is the best!

Red and blue

Img_6141_3 Three pincushions - nothing new about that. Seen on many blogs around the world and I have made some earlier too. I still like them!

A great way to mix different kind af pattern and colours. Here is another picture.

Available in the shop later today.

Jeg har sagt det før, nålepude syning er balsam for sjælen. De her nålepuder er snart syet af gud og hver mand, men jeg elsker dem stadig. Der er fri fantasi for mix af mønstre og farver. De vil være til salg her i løbet af dagen.

Shipping Day

Img_6120_3 The garland with the happy babuskas is ready to move to their new home. I hope their new famíly will like the dolls and their cheerful colours. Img_6123My first Pay It Forward gift is ready too. I hope she will like it! It's exiting to see how the PIF gifts will turn up on the blogs during 2008. I'm looking forward to that. Have you already received your gift....?! All for now, friends, I have some swap parcels to plan. I can't wait! I'm dreaming about fabric, ribbon, buttons and lace all day long. Try it.

Notice Shop update.

Second hand Cushion

Img_6113_2 Recently I went to one on the local second hand shops. It was a lucky day. The shop had different kind of table cloths and fabric napkins. It's usually difficult to find such goodies. I've used one of the napkins for this cushion. Img_6115The green fabric for this one is also a fabric napkin. I was lucky with the napkin for the cushion. I could use it without cutting in it. It is not easy to cut in a handmade project and spoil it.

Doll Factory

Img_6104_5 Happy monday evening - I made a small production of these happy dolls. They are ready for filling and four of them are looking forward to live as garland in a girl room.

One is going to Finland to live with a finnish girl. Perhaps they will visit these dolls.

Deja vue

Img_6093_3   I'm sorry that I'm not able to show you a new inspiring model, when I finally have a finished knit project to show you. These baby vests are perfect to knit when you watch tv.

This one is for a baby boy, size 6 month - the only problem is that I don't know a baby boy... The yarn is Gepard Retro, soft merino, which I can only recommend.

I think I will knit the next baby vest in silk/alpaca. This yarn is so soft and perfect for sweet babies - perhaps not for their parents, who must handwash the vest....

If you want to practice some stitching - like me - you must visit Stitch 2008. A new motif for each month, links and so much inspiration. I wish I had the courage to join the group. Instead I will follow their work and read all their good advices. You should do the same!

Wool hearts

Img_6081_2 During my Christmas vacation I found these hearts and fell in love at once. I like them because they are knitted, woolen, decorated, beautiful and crazy at the same time. My first thought was to find my husbands Norwegian sweater, which he doesn't wear anymore. Perhaps not a good idea if he should want to wear again....

I could hear his voice "Darling, what has happened to my weater....". No. Instead I asked Emily, if she would like to sell me a couple of hearts. She said yes! Here they are! Img_6085  I'm Emilys first customer and therefore she has spoiled me with some goodies. A bracelet and silk-tweed. Thank you so much!

Since I will not use my hearts as Christmas decoration, I have already found space for them in the kitchen.

Some of you often ask me how I arrange a swap. If you want to try swapping take a look here. The first swap I joined was the Red and aqua swap arranged by Swap bot. I must warn you - you may like it and perhaps become and addict as me. I don't want to be cured!

Have a great and creative weekend!
