Sleeping Babushkas

Img_6603_2Today I made these slepping beauties. Two more dolls for my babushka collection.

Not much creative going on these days. Yesterday I was cleaning all day. A thorough cleaning was necessary and we are one step closer to finish our new room in the house. The new floor has a fantastic smell of wood. After Olivia's confirmation on May 4th it's time to furnish the room.

Now it's time to enjoy a cup of tea. Happy Sunday! In one week we have a party going on.

Olvias pink Party

Img_6566 On May the 4th we are going to celebrate Olivias confirmation. Only two weeks left and I'm not sure if we are in control of the planning. I think so, hope so....

Today I've made these for the table. Six months ago Olivia prefered black - now it's pink! I think it is very funny planning a pink party for her.

This great cake maker is going to make a pink and yummy cake for Olivia. A real girly one!

Re-building our house, the up coming confirmation and a rough time at work are stealing all my energy at present.... It's not fun at all! I don't even feel the need to sew! Although I know, that I will find some energy there.

Here you see my very busy handyman. When the craftsmen are not here, he has to work. I'm not at all part of the re-building. Instead I try to nurse my dear husband a little. He deserves it! He's making all this for me and my sewing machine. What a person am I to complain about the re-building.....?! I'm really looking forward to sit and craft in the new room. Img_6561

I started the day with a small sewing project. You have seen them before - I know. This time it's a linen House Purse, but I prefer the checkered ones! They are more colourful and happy - I like that!

Well, it's time to bake some bread and prepare dinner. Beside that there are still some place cards to finish. Have a great weekend.

Checkered House Purse

Img_6545

A Japanese inspired house purse (approx. 15 x 15 cm) for keys, money or whatever you prefer. This project has been on the to-do-list since I got this book. Today was the day.

Sometimes I ask myself why a 48 years old women loves making pouches with hedgehogs, appliqued strawberries..... It's not because I expect people to buy them. I just have so much fun making them! It's not possible not to make them. That's reason enough for me.

The purse is for sale in my Etsy Shop.

Swap Love

Img_6537Last weekend I got a great swap package from my Dutch friend, Kay. Today I received a swap package from USA. I'm so lucky to have the most fantastic swap partners!

Amy has sent me the most beautiful fabric, ribbon and buttons. Beside that she has gifted me with one of her handmade bunnies. Amy is very talented and I like her style. She sells her hadmade goodies in her Etsy shop, Nana Company.

Thank you so much, Amy. I know, you are too busy to blog and surf at the moment. More swap pictures here.

Time for a break.....

Img_6520Today is my monthly Friday off from work. I started the day planning a new project.

Then it was time to pick up the right fabric, do some cutting and finally sew. Now it's afternoon and the top of the quilt is ready. Img_6531It's time for a break now. I'm getting insane! We have been re-building our house for months now, which means that I have to sew in the kitchen and all my crafting stuff are every where! In the living room, the kitchen and the bedroom. I can find anything and I feel, that I'm sewing in the middle of an airport.

Three sweet girls are sitting in the kitchen now waiting for me to join them. We are going to eat cake! I will try to tidy up a little and hang out with them. It's not their fault, that I'm getting insane.....

Pouch Mood

Img_6497

Yesterday I was in pouch mood and made these two appliqued pouches with strawberries and mushrooms (approx. 14 x 16 cm). Use them for make-up, keys or whatever you like. I have several pouches myself and use them for almost everything. More pictures here.

The pouches will be listed in my Etsy shop later today.

Thank you

Ribbon_xs_neuLast week Jaana Maaria gave me an award, the Checkered Ribbon Award. No doubt that I love checkered fabric and ribbon - very much indeed! Thank you so much for the award!

Bloggingwpurposeaward Another award - Blogging with a Purpose - was given to me by two bloggers - almost at the same time! The award was given to me by Farmor and Marie. Thank you to you too!

AwardFinally Tante Tee gave me this award for being an inspiring blogger. Thank you!

Most of all I will thank you for visiting Erleperle and your nice words about my work. I'm so happy, when I'm able to inspire other crafters. I enjoy finding new inspiration myself. I must admit, that I'm not good to pass on awards. Not because I don't want to, but I get confused and don't no how to choose between all the inspiring blogs. I have to give it some thoughts.

Swell Quilt

Img_6472 My Swell Quilt (approx. 70 x 70 cm) is finished. I was pretty nervous while the quilt was in the washing machine! Only the white fabric was pre-washed.

No cotton batting on stash and I couldn't wait to get some. Instead I have used polyester batting. I think it is time to order cotton batting here.

The quilt has got just the fluffy texture, I wanted. You can see more quilting details in my flickr album. Who the quilt is for...?! I don't know, but I think it will be fine for a cute baby girl.

Swell

Img_6467

The Swell quilt is almost finished. The only thing left is to handsew the binding and a quick wash. I don't want this project to end. It's been a pleasure. Perhaps it's time to plan a new quilting project. Perhaps - time will show.

I know that I'm not the only one, who likes the Swell collection. How about starting a flickr group where we can all show our Swell projects....?!

I have ordered these - I must try them!
