I'm still not able to show you just a tiny piece of handmade stuff made by me recently. No, we are still busy preparing our new family adventure. In only three days we will wellcome a new member in our family, Brittni from Minnesota, USA.
She is going to study in Denmark until Christmas, so she will live in our house for the next four months. We are sure it will be a rewarding experience for everyone. We are sure, that Brittni is a perfect match for our family.
We already have a busy mail correspondance sharing family pictures too. Thanks to the internet we feel, that we already know Brittni and her family.
Her room is ready and so are we. Isn't life fantastic....?!
It has been a busy week and I'm home alone for the next couple of hours. Just what I need! My husband has left with three playmates to participate in a 12 hour mountainbike race. He won't be back before Sunday.
I have bought this Matryoshka print from here. We had hoped to redecorate and paint our livingroom during our vacation, but no.... It didn't prevent me from buying this print for a new shelf to hang over the sofa.
New organizer for crafting stuff (- or something else).
Yes, it has been a busy week, but also a very good week. Wednesday I had such a good time with my friend Kay talking, eating, laughing, baking breads, swapping gifts and enjoying everyday life as much as possible.
Now I'm back to work and the Summer is back too.... Typical! The best Summer weather was before and after the vacation. Oh, I miss our two weeks in France or Italy.... Honestly - getting back to work wasn’t so bad after all. The worst part is getting up early in the morning. In our family we like getting to bed late, but we intend to enjoy the summertime anyway.
After work today I had a trip to Gilleleje all by myself. I visited Gilleleje Stof og Garn - a shop worth visiting. I go there sometimes just to have a look. I love the beginning of this beautiful flower scarf made of very thin thread (it looks very much like the scarf on my to-do list...). Belowe you can see some lovely Liberty prints.
I had to buy the needle book for myself (...and as part of a swap for a friend). I already have the heart needles. Perhaps I should have spoiled myself with this silly puncushion.
After a visit to one of my favorite shops in Gilleleje, Petit, I had a capuccino and a cookie and then a walk on the beach. Spending two hours there alone was like vacation for me. Do you know the feeling...?!
Now I'm sitting here telling you all about my day, drinking red wine and my husband is busy preparing dinner in the kitchen. Who can ask for more.....!?
Tomorrow is my first day back to work after 5 weeks vacation. Honestly I'm not at all ready for that... Today I made this bag - I had to do something fun this last day off.
A pocket inside the bag.
You can buy the pattern for The Lickety Bag here and download it immediately. It's a fun project and the pattern instruction is easy to follow. I can only say - buy the pattern! Sew a bag for yourself or perhaps as a gift for a friend. You can see another version of the bag here.
Liberty Love - my small collection of fabric pieces for patchwork.
