My Dresden Plate is finished and it ended up as a cushion cover (I just need a cushion 60 x 60 cm). The cushion cover is a perfect match to our vintage crochet blanket on the bed.
I have used only scraps or recycled fabrics. It's a very satisfying feeling! I try to challenge myself and use materials from my stash. Are you up for a challenge reducing your fabric stash...!? Perhaps someone would like to swap scraps...?!
Detail on the back. I have used a piece of recycled fabric with button holes.
You find a link to a Dresden Plate turorial in this post. You don't need a ruler - just glue the template on cardboard and cut. Then you draw a line round the template on the fabric and cut. You can find different kinds of templates on the internet. I have enlarged my template on a copymachine. It's very easy to make a DP - and fun!
I have hand appliqued the DP on the back ground fabric. You find another tutorial here - it shows how to hand applique too.
