Retro Owl and hexagon Dreams

Img_6850Orange and green retro owl (approx. 17 cm). I had to start the day with just a tiny project. After cleaning up all day yesterday, I just had to sew although we are not all finished. Today we are having a break and we will go to the beach for a walk, eat the first ice cream this summer and just enjoy the day.

Img_2 I have planned to place a couple of mattresses in the new room. We don't have space for a guest room. I had an idea about decorating the mattresses and today I looked in a back issue of Boligliv. I was looking for a recipe for a strawberry salad and found this great corner. It was love at first sight! Hexagon love. Perhaps a project for the summer holiday....?! I could ask my mother-in-law to make us a new quilt. I don't know yet, but I have a hexagon dream.

Sleeping Babushkas

Img_6603_2Today I made these slepping beauties. Two more dolls for my babushka collection.

Not much creative going on these days. Yesterday I was cleaning all day. A thorough cleaning was necessary and we are one step closer to finish our new room in the house. The new floor has a fantastic smell of wood. After Olivia's confirmation on May 4th it's time to furnish the room.

Now it's time to enjoy a cup of tea. Happy Sunday! In one week we have a party going on.

Artista Dolls

Img_6325_2

I have made a new doll collection named after my new best friend. The friendship is very new and the Artista Dolls is our first project. We work great together, so I hope new projects will come up soon. I feel that I'm letting down a very dear friend. My old Husquarna is 22 years old and I bought the machine after giving birth to my first child in 1986!

Let me introduce you to the Artista Dolls - eight dolls in different colours and different decoration. I like their slanting shape. I had planned to make all dolls in the light blue and white fabric, but I had to try other colours too. Most of the dolls have linen on the back and a couple of them have light purple velvet.

One of the dolls is in my favorite colour mix of light blue and red. I think these two colours will be a theme for more Artista Dolls. If you are interested in buying the dolls they will be listed on Etsy soon. Until then feel free to send me an e-mail if you are interested in one of the dolls. You can see a picture of each doll here.

New Dolls

These dolls was ment to be a garland - but not this time! Yes, the babushka theme once again - I can't help it.

Not much more to say about that. Have a great Monday, friends.

Karkovski Cat

Img_5033_2

Finally! Now I have made my first Karkovski Cat! It will not be the last one. This cat is a great gift for children and childish grown ups like me.

The pattern is from this great book. Some of you have asked me where to buy the book. I'm not able to help you about that - I don't know. I have received my book as a gift. I feel very lucky.

Next time I will make Lucy's Monster (the pink monster on the frontpage of the book). I'm not the only one in the family, who enjoy the book. My two girls age 10 and 13 like it too. Olivia, 13, think that Lucy's Monster is so cool.

Img_3095_1Russian dolls - in Denmark we call them babuska dolls. What do you call them...?! I love their colours and happy faces. They make me happy. I've really enjoyed sewing them and there will soon come more dolls in the little black suitcase with white dots. I like that one too. I dream a lot of dreams of beautiful quilts, bags, pillows, book covers, softies - you name it. Crafting is wonderful!

Yesterday the postman brought me a new japanese book. More inspiration, more fun! By the way have you seen the new decole arrivals here...?! I love the mushroom stamps.
