Knitting Therapy

Yes, it's true. I've been knitting. It took me one week to knit the top and I enjoyed every minute!

IMG_7000

The top is designed by the Danish knit designer Helga Isager, Amimono. The pattern was published in my favorite magazine, Boligliv, a couple of months ago (issue.no. 5).

Yarn: Black Bomulin, very thin brown cotton, Isager Bomuld, and some green Isager cotton from stash. I like the mix of the black and brown yarn. I'm not the only one, who likes this model. Take a look at this gorgeous colour mix. The green flower is for my hair!

The top is ready to wear, the sun is shining, the love of my life has invited me out for dinner and to the movies afterwards. Beside that I've started my vacation today. No more work until August, 5th. Today us a perfect day! I hope, you have a nice day too!

Finito!

Img_6355

Yeaha! I'm finished, finito! I did it - it's a victory! The most boring knit project I have ever done. I bought the knit kit on a hot summerday in July 2006. The heat must be the reason that I bought the kit. Rib knitting on needles number 3! Not my cup of tea.

The model (ribbluse med flæser) is from Isager Strik and the yarn is Tvinni wool. You can see the gorgeous colours here.

I think I will let this sweater be my March contribution to my 12 projects in 2008. From UFO to FO. Yeaha!

It's about Knitting

Img_6296_3 My contribution to 12 Projects in 2008. Many Danish knitters have made this model called Mini, from Design Club.

I have knitted Mini in Pelsuld from the local yarn shop, Butik Strik.

I'm proud to say, that this cardigan is for a one year birthday - next winter! Now I have only one problem - will I remember this gift, when it's birthday time......

Deja vue

Img_6093_3   I'm sorry that I'm not able to show you a new inspiring model, when I finally have a finished knit project to show you. These baby vests are perfect to knit when you watch tv.

This one is for a baby boy, size 6 month - the only problem is that I don't know a baby boy... The yarn is Gepard Retro, soft merino, which I can only recommend.

I think I will knit the next baby vest in silk/alpaca. This yarn is so soft and perfect for sweet babies - perhaps not for their parents, who must handwash the vest....

If you want to practice some stitching - like me - you must visit Stitch 2008. A new motif for each month, links and so much inspiration. I wish I had the courage to join the group. Instead I will follow their work and read all their good advices. You should do the same!

Goodies

Img_6044  End of the first working day in 2008. In the post box I found two delayed Christmas presents. I think I will make a cup of spicy Christmas tea and enjoy my new books! Perhaps I will knit some rib.

Img_6039_2  Yesterday I finally used some of my Barefoot Roses fabric for another tissue hugger.  Thank you for swapping with me, Linda. I was lucky to find the red polka dots which is part of the Barefoot Roses collection. I love dots!

Now it's tea time! Have a great day friends. Just one more working day this week and weekend is calling.

Baby rib

Img_6027 Baby rib vest like this one. Size 6 months knitted in cotton for the spring.

I like knitting this baby vest and I must admit, that a new one is on the needles! It's a great model to knit, when you are wathcing tv. More pictures here.

This project is my January project in this group. I didn't finish all 12 projects in 2007. Then it must be okay, that I started a day or two before the first of January.....

You are welcome to join the group if you want to.

A weekend trip

Img_5408_2  My husband and I have spent a couple of days in a Danish town far from our home. While my husband had to work in the day time, I couldn't find anything to do but visiting a café, shopping or resting in our hotel room. Poor me... I had time to read a Christmas magazine and make som plans for Christimas ideas. Fantastic! Now I'm back, tomorrow it's another day off - I hope to be able to start some of the sewing ideas!

Hos Ønskestrik finder du garn fra bl.a. Rowan, Debbie Bliss.

Just a tiny project......

Img_5383

We have seen many of these hats, I know. Anyway it is still a cute model. This one is for a baby girl. I have knitted the hat in Lucca fino, merino, from BC Garn. Here is a picture of the yarn.

If you visit my flickr album take a look at the beautiful Lorna's Lace, Black Purl.

Grey jacket

Img_5374_2

I have finished the grey jacket - finally! I have knitted the model in this yarn. I'm ready for a new knit project - although I have this sweater waiting for my attention. Too boring..... I hope to finish the sweater some day - I will love to wear it, but I don't love knitting rib sleaves.

Size extra, extra small....

Img_5330_2 Saartje's Bootees from Saartje Knits - they are so cute! I have knitted them in Bambi, merino extrafine, from Grignasco. The yarn is very soft and it is available in so many beautiful colours! Just take a look here and see Marie-Louise's hexagon project.

The Knit Hawk has made the bootees and so have Knitting a lot (...and many other knitters too!). How about you - are you going to make the bootees too...?!

The buttons ARE pink!!
